It feels like forever since I have done a newsletter. But I guess it is just old age that makes it seem longer.

I will catch you up on the latest events. The May 22 fun show had 40 entries for a total of $30, thank goodness for the concession stand, Linda took in $69, seems she is the only one bringing in the dough. Then we come to the June 4 show. I have decided that I need to be gone more often. We had 94 entries for a total of $70.50 and as always Linda out did us with a total of $123.50. This was more like the old fun shows. Hopefully starting at 6:00 will give more members time to get there. At this time I do not have all the figures from the KSHA shows on May 29 and June 12. I will have those by the next newsletter.

Want to say job well done to youth members Gabby Sloan & McKenzie Miller. June 4, 5, & 6 they participated in the Jr High Rodeo Finals in Whitewater Ks. McKenzie has qualified to attend the National Finals in Gallup New Mexico in July. Gabby took 3rd place in the NRA shooting match. Congratulations to both of these girls.

Now on to upcoming events. June 19 & 20 we will be hosting the first of 2 KWHA shows. KWHA stands for Kansas Western Horseman Association. The show will start at 9:00 each day. The only judged event will be Lead Line and everything else will be speed events. They do a lot of the same events that we do at the fun shows. Over the 2 days there are 72 events. You pay a one time fee of $6 and compete both days. I have a copy of the show bill so if you are interested in this let me know and I will send you a copy.

The June 26 fun show events are Lead Line, Western Pleasure, Reining, Flying W, Figure 8 Race and Texas Roll Back. July 3 events are Halter Mares, Halter Geldings, Lead Line, Horsemanship, Barrels, Flag Race, Pony Express and Western Relay.

This year’s Patriot Parade will be Saturday July 3. Line up and time will be the same as it has been in past years. So dress up those horses in a Patriotic theme and come join the parade.
